Image made in Retezat National Park from Romania. In the image we see an amazing bouquet of mountain peonies that leads your eyes to an amazing waterfall and an imposing peak, Judele peak more exactly.
The National Retezat Park is one of the most loved, sought after and most mountainous areas in Romania. It gained a lot of popularity after taking part in the “New 7 Natural Wonders of the World” competition.
The Retezat Mountains are part of the Southern Carpathians, mountain group Retezat-Godeanu. It rises between two major depressions, Petrosani and Hateg, and between two major rivers, the Great River, which delimits them to the north and east, and to the South West, which delimits them to the south. The highest peak in the Retezat Mountains is Peleaga Peak at an altitude of 2509 m.
